The house sits on seven acres and still retains some of Frost's original apple trees. Little could detract from the multiplayer, however, which built on the foundations of the first game, cementing Modern Warfare's position as the best multiplayer shooter around. The campaign did come under some criticism for its constrained nature and courted controversy with its infamous 'No Russian' mission, in which the player formed part of a squad of Russian terrorists, gunning down scores of innocent civilians in a Moscow airport. The explosions were bigger, the storyline more outlandish and the scripting tighter. In gameplay terms, Modern Warfare 2 was the expected refinement of the first Modern Warfare. Video games were now the most valuable entertainment medium in the world, and Call of Duty was its figurehead. Buoyed by the huge success of the first Modern Warfare, its sequel arrived on an unprecedented wave of hype, even receiving its own red carpet premiere in Leicester Square.
